Libyan-Chinese Joint Economic Chamber

The Libyan-Chinese Joint Economic Chamber (LCJCC) was established by a decision of the Minister of Economy and Trade, in support of economic and investment ties between the State of Libya and the People’s Republic of China, and in implementation of the economic agreement concluded between the two friendly countries represented by the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Libya (CCPIT) and the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade (GLUCC), in order to develop economic relations and investment in all fields.

Objectives of the Libyan-Chinese Joint Economic Chamber

Developing and encouraging commercial, industrial and agricultural relations between the two countries, utilising natural and financial resources and investment of all kinds, and enabling businessmen and traders to achieve real development to achieve the following objectives

  • Collect, distribute and share economic and investment information between the two countries
  • Enhance, strengthen and develop economic cooperation in all commercial, industrial and agricultural activities, and capitalise on the potential between the two countries in developing, training and developing youth and investing in industry, construction and agriculture.
  • Participating and organising international exhibitions, forums and conferences for businessmen between the two countries in the fields of development, economic and commercial activities, exchanging information to reach the global economy, facilitating the organisation of visits for those interested in trade, investment, industry, agriculture, economic cooperation, economic missions, conferences, training seminars and studies held in the two countries, and facilitating the procedures for granting visas, residencies, legal procedures and licences necessary for establishing various projects.
  • Resolving disputes between companies and businessmen in either country through the conciliation and arbitration office established by a decision of the board of directors of the Joint Chamber and providing advice and possible assistance for the establishment of joint companies in accordance with the provisions of Libyan and Chinese legislation
  • Contribute, co-operate and work on issuing a unified economic guide to introduce companies, factories, investors and businessmen to the products and economic institutions of both countries, especially for valid member companies.
  •  Benefit from agricultural and maritime expertise and all documents related to agricultural transactions and food control issued by the regulatory authorities and the specifications stipulated by the relevant laws.
  • Establishing specialised markets between the two countries as stipulated in the Commercial Code and the Investment Law in both countries, provided that they are specialised markets and are established by a decision of the Board of Directors and approved by the concerned authorities after harmonising the laws in force in the two countries.
  • Interest in training courses for young people and enabling them to work, and start pushing them to form partnerships through small and medium enterprises and follow up their work to enable them to establish their projects and push them to success, whether in private markets or private industrial zones to build real businessmen from young people and entrepreneurs.
  • Formation of rules and principles of trade practices between the two countries to simplify and facilitate trade transactions.
  • Enter into agreements with other bodies within either country to develop trade, industry, agriculture and investment.
